ATU International reached out to all ATU presidents and business agents, requesting we share the information below with frontline transit workers -
The Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the
University of South Florida is researching transit bus collisions. CUTR’s goals are to (1) identify the most common causes of collisions, (2) come up with practical ways to prevent collisions and to make them less severe when they do happen, and (3) determine what transit agency managers and other stakeholders can do to improve safety on the bus.
Input from frontline transit workers, particularly bus
operators, is vital to CUTR’s research. This survey is CUTR’s main tool for gathering information from workers about how your transit agencies determine the causes of bus collisions; what you, the frontline worker, think leads to collisions; and what you think can be done to bring collision numbers down.
Your response to this survey is voluntary and anonymous. This survey should take no more than 20 minutes to complete.
