As Medicare Part B premiums change, you must provide updated premium rate information to the TriMet Benefits Department so that they can update the reimbursement amount. And if you have another person on your policy who is also enrolled in Medicare, you must send Benefits their updated Medicare Part B premium verification.

Valid proof of premiums include letters the Social Security Administration provides you, such as:

- Your new benefit amount

- Important information

- Information about current social security benefits

The Social Security Administration mails this information directly to you. However, if you do not receive it by December 15th, 2025, you may obtain a copy through one of the following channels :

- Visit medicare.gov

- Call Social Security at 1-800-633-4227, TTY users may call 1-877-486-2048

- Visit your local Social Security Office

Documents are due no later than the last day of the month to impact the next month’s reimbursement. Forms Benefits received after then will not be processed until the next month’s reimbursement and will not be retroactive.

Example: Updated information Benefits received by Dec. 31 will be reimbursed on Jan. 31. Updated information Benefits received between Jan. 1-31 will be reimbursed on Feb. 28, and will not include any amount difference between what was paid and what was reimbursed in January.
