Do you need to change your Medical or Dental Plan? Don’t Miss Open Enrollment! Open enrollment closes on Oct. 31, 2024.
Open enrollment, which runs Oct. 15-31, is your chance to review, ask questions and make changes as needed to your TriMet benefits.
Open enrollment informational packets are scheduled to arrive via U.S. mail the second week in October, before open enrollment begins.
The TriMet Benefits team must receive open enrollment forms and any required supporting documentation no later than that date. Late forms will not be accepted. Additionally, if you or your enrolled family member is eligible for Medicare AND you are changing medical plans for 2025, TriMet will mail you additional forms.
ALSO if you are considering changing to the VEBA/HRA during this year's Annual enrollment, please make sure you contact either an insurance agent or insurance company and apply for either an individual Medigap/Supplement or Individual MedAdvantage plan and are accepted for the plan you choose, PRIOR to sending the Tri-Met enrollment to Tri-Met deadline by October 31, 2024.
Tri-Met will not make changes once they receive the change form. With this in mind, if for some reason you cannot secure an Individual Medigap Supplement plan, your only option would be to choose an individual MedAdvantage plan which may not be as rich in benefits compared to your current Tri-Met Group MedAdvantage plan.
We realize Tri-Met has given you a very short time frame to secure an individual plan, but we do not want you to find yourself in a position where you are only able to secure a MedAdvantage plan if the Medigap/Supplement plan would be a better option for you.
