CVS Health Scam Alert!
Mar 06, 2024

CVS Health is alerting customers about recent phone calls made by scammers who are posing as pharmacy representatives. In this case the scammers spoof a CVS Pharmacy's phone number. The scammer then offers the call recipient a chance to order drugs or buy medical services.

Some questions the scammer asks are:

  • Can you provide us a list of your medications?
  • Do you need any refills on your current medications?
  • Would you like to order Cialis or Viagra?
  • What drugs do you want?

CVS Pharmacy will never call and request this type of information from its customers. Protect your personal information from fraud:

  • Do not provide personal information to anyone you do not know.
  • Never provide credit card or other financial information to unsolicited callers.
  • If you have any doubts or uncertainty, please call your CVS pharmacy directly regarding your prescription or a prescription refill.

To reach CVS Pharmacy, CVS Caremark, MinuteClinic, or customer service, please use the numbers listed on cvs.com, or on the back of your ExtraCare® Card, the Caremark Customer Care toll-free number (1-800-552-8159) or the MinuteClinic Patient Support number at 1-866-389-2727.

As Washington state's Senior Medicare Patrol, the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) helps clients prevent, detect and report Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse. If you have questions or suspect fraud or abuse, call 1-800-562-6900 and ask to speak with SHIBA.
