UFCW 555 Contract Fight

Take Note and share with your members:

UFCW Local 555 is asking for your support in their attempt to secure a fair and equitable contract. They are seeking support from the entire labor movement. Strike authorization votes have been taken over the last month in Portland. They are well on the way to adding all food contracts in the rest of their jurisdiction. This will coordinate for the first time in Oregon, bargaining representing 21,000 workers.

Labor support is essential as they start to engage the public in the fight for a fair contract. We have been in negotiations for over a year with the multi employer group. They have offered little while trying to take their medical reserves; your help would be greatly appreciated.

Tell Albertsons, Fred Meyer, and Safeway to do the right thing.

Oh, and while we’re at it, should hard-working grocery journeywomen at Fred Meyer be hired into lower-paying jobs? Learn more at https://www.ufcw555.org/the-women-of-555/

We say it’s NOT OK for the men who run Fred Meyer to make more by paying women less.
