TriMet Bargaining Update

We know that you have all been waiting to hear a bargaining update. Of course, COVID threw a wrench into scheduling bargaining sessions. Furthermore, the parties were awaiting the outcome of our most recent ULP about apprenticeships. Now that we have that decision, the parties have agreed to recommence bargaining.

The parties will meet twice later this month: one session will focus on Article 3 (maintenance), in light of the recent ULP decision, and the other on Articles 1 & 2 (transportation).

The parties have met their 150 day bargaining minimum, so either party can declare impasse at any time. When and if a party declares impasse, we will go to mediation for at least 15 days. If the parties do not reach agreement in mediation then we will go to interest arbitration.
