TriMet Tentative Agreement and Ratification Vote
If you’re in the Portland area, you’ve probably heard the big news: ATU 757 reached a Tentative Agreement with TriMet covering about 2500 ATU-represented front-line workers! Now comes the most important part: eligible members must decide whether or not to ratify the agreement. Below are all the details you need to know about the ratification vote:
  • We will be conducting this vote by mail, which we believe will give everyone the greatest opportunity to review the tentative agreement, ask questions, and cast their vote. For more information on the voting process, please check out the guide on our website.
  • Voting packets are being mailed out today, and ballots will be counted on Tuesday, November 28th, at 10:00am. Postmarks don’t count – we must physically receive your ballot in our PO Box or at the secure drop-off in the Union Hall by 10am on 11/28, or it will not be counted.
  • Transportation, Maintenance, and Salaried/other divisions vote separately using ballots of different colors, according to Section 22 of the ATU 757 bylaws.
  • A copy of the Tentative Agreement itself and a summary of its major provisions are both available on our website, and are being mailed to eligible voters along with your official ballot.
Please join us for an informational session on Monday, November 20th, from 6:00am to 8:00pm: members can drop in to the Oregon AFL-CIO office (3645 SE 32nd Ave., Portland) to review the tentative agreement and ask any questions you might have before casting your ballot. We encourage ALL voters to join us at this informational session – it’s the best opportunity you have to ask questions and check in with your sisters and brothers. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to call the Union Hall at (503) 232-9144.
