New USDOT drug testing guidelines

Sisters & brothers, please see an advisory from ATU International below – the US Department of Transportation is expected to add four semi-synthetic opioid painkillers (hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone, and oxymorphone) to DOT’s drug-screening list, the first time the Department has included in the list a drug that is legal, commonly prescribed, and widely used.
If you experience any issues related to opioids in drug testing, particularly if you are held off work despite holding a valid prescription for one of these drugs, please notify your officers and the union hall, so that we can help track the implementation of this rule.
