Dear Hood River Operators,
The first ever labor agreement negotiations with Columbia Area Transit are moving forward at a steady pace. Our first meeting was in December and we just wrapped up our third meeting Feb. 23.
Union President Shirley Block and Vice-President Jon Hunt and Hood River Liaison Officer John Maher met again for the third month of contract negotiations. The Feb. 23 meeting in Portland brought most of the proposals to a tentative agreement, including Grievances, Discipline Procedures, Sick Days and Vacations. Agreement on Wages was not reached and a Union counter proposal on Wages will be sent to CAT management in two weeks.
We hope to have an acceptable agreement on Wages reached by the April contract meeting.
