All over Oregon and southern Washington, communities are dealing with snow, ice, and all of the nastiness that brings. Many folks in our community have gotten snow days – but transit workers everywhere are still hard at work moving our cities, towns, and everywhere in between.
School bus operators have gotten our little ones to and from their homes warmly and safely. Dispatchers and supervisors have been out in the field helping coordinate reroutes, detours, and buses that are slipping on snow and ice. Bus & MAX operators are powering through the conditions to make sure our riders get where they need to go. And as you can see in the photo below from TriMet’s Merlo Garage, mechanics have been working around the clock to get vehicles chained and unchained as conditions require.
Sisters & brothers, thank you for keeping our communities moving whether it’s raining, snowing, or the sun is shining – we salute you and the work you do each and every day!
