The Oregon AFL-CIO will be holding two lobby days this session. The first will be March 10th and the second will be May 24th. This is a great opportunity for you and your members to be part of the legislative process. We’ll provide training about how a bill is formed and passed, you’ll hear from other labor and progressive advocates, we’ll provide training on lobbying and then the participants will lobby their legislators. It’s a great event for members who have never been to Salem and leaders as well. It’s imperative that you register using this link www.oraflcio.org/lobbyday so we can make sure to set meetings with your own legislators. Please be sure to use your HOME ADDRESS when registering. Please let Chelsea know how many people from your union we can expect. Our goal is 75 participants for each date.
Due to unforeseen technical issues, we’ve had to relaunch our Hate-Free Workplaces hotline. Please note the new telephone number: 503-412-8484. The hotline allows workers to call and report incidents of hate that happen on the job. We will work with the impacted worker to get the resources they need, either through BOLI or through their union, to ensure their rights are upheld.
