Oregon Election Results and ATU Endorsements

Last night was Oregon’s primary election – here’s how the candidates endorsed by ATU Local 757 fared:

Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor & Industries (BOLI), nonpartisan: we endorsed Val Hoyle, who WON with nearly 52% of the vote

Oregon State Senate District 8 (Eugene and Lane County), Democratic Party primary: we endorsed James Manning, who WON his primary unopposed

Metro Council President, nonpartisan: we endorsed Lynn Peterson, who WON with over 75% of the vote

Lane County Commission District 5 (East Lane County), nonpartisan: we endorsed Heather Buch, who FINISHED IN THE TOP TWO and moves on to a runoff election against Gary William in November

Portland City Council Position 3 (citywide), nonpartisan: we endorsed Jo Ann Hardesty, who FINISHED IN THE TOP TWO, and moves on to a runoff election against Loretta Smith in November

Portland City Council Position 2 (citywide), nonpartisan: we declined to endorse either candidate, because both were strong on transportation issues. Incumbent Nick Fish WON re-election
