Attention members and retirees who receive their health benefits through TriMet: open enrollment for 2018 has begun, and you should have received your open enrollment packet from TriMet. If you have not received your open enrollment packet, please call TriMet’s benefits department at (503) 962-7625 to make sure that it’s on the way, because the deadline to submit forms is coming up quickly: Monday, October 30th at 5:00pm. That is just one week away.
Although the Union believes that the short open enrollment window is not enough time for our members to fully evaluate their options, TriMet has rejected our request to extend the deadline. That means that your open enrollment forms are due no later than 5:00pm on Monday, October 30th, and we expect the company to be very strict with this deadline.
Please note: if you are NOT making any changes to your existing coverage, then you DO NOT need to return the open enrollment form. You need to return the form ONLY IF you are making changes to your plan or coverage, adding or removing dependents, or want to enroll in a flexible spending account for 2018. Again, if you are not making changes to your health coverage, then you do not need to do anything to re-enroll.
