LRV body shop and wheel true workers at TriMet reject contract offer

Sisters and brothers, we have an important update from TriMet regarding the new classifications put forward for LRV body shop and wheel true mechanics – members have overwhelmingly REJECTED the proposed contract offer in front of them. Our workers’ message is clear and unified: we will not accept the company’s proposal to bring in outside hires on top of the provisions in our existing contract with TriMet.

This contract now goes to Interest Arbitration, where an arbitrator will decide whether to approve the company’s final offer, or the union’s. ATU leadership will continue to advocate for a fair contract for our LRV body shop and wheel true workers, and we will keep you updated as the process moves forward. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your local officers or the union hall.
