Labor Notes: Building Grassroots Labor Solidarity
January 20 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PST
From our pals over at Labor Notes: “From the Supreme Court to the shopfloor, unions are under the fiercest attack in more than a generation. Corporations, and
the politicans who carry their water, are pushing to slash wages, abolish pensions, outsource jobs, and gut public services.
Join us for brunch and a lively discussion of how rank-and-file activists around the country are fighting back, and what union troublemakers in the Pacific Northwest are doing to build the resistance.
We will also kick off organizing for the national Labor Notes Conference, which is taking place in Chicago April 6-8, 2018. Two years ago more than 75 activists from this region attended. This year we hope to send more than 100.
In addition to learning more about the national picture and inspiring local struggles, we will be raising money for solidarity scholarships to help low-wage workers and younger activists attend.
